Risk Management Webinar Series: Implementing ERM Part I |
Course Title: Risk Management Webinar Series: Implementing ERM Part I
Course Code: RMICERM209
Event Date: 10/7/09
Presenters: Paul Walker, Parveen Gupta
Description:
The current financial crisis and resulting business failures have clearly demonstrated that ERM is a critical component of effective governance structure of any enterprise today. Without effective ERM, an organization cannot defensively claim that it has in place appropriate corporate governance mechanisms to protect and enhance shareholder value. Ad-hoc ERM implementation leaves the boards of directors vulnerable to the risk of breaching their fiduciary duty. Recent financial crisis has clearly demonstrated that many companies are woefully inadequate in implementing ERM effectively in their organizations. This webinar builds on the material covered in the "Introduction to ERM" webinar.
Upon completing this course you should be able to:
- Explain elements of an ERM process
- Identify, measure, assess and map business risks facing your organization
- Recognize the prerequisites to implementing a successful ERM program
- Identify and understand the attributes of a successful ERM program
- Understand role of the board in an ERM process
