IMA Fiscal 2010 Chair

IMA Nominating Committee Nominates John M. Brausch, CMA, CFM, CPA, as Fiscal 2010 Chair
The Nominating Committee of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA^®) is pleased to announce John M. Brausch, CMA^®, CFM^®, CPA, as its nominee for IMA Chair for fiscal 2010 (July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010).

Mr. Brausch is vice president - property controller for Edens & Avant, the nation's largest private developer and owner of retail shopping centers. A member of the IMA National Board, he has served as chair of the Performance Oversight and Audit Committee and on the Governance Committee. In line with his commitment to the CMA certification program, Mr. Brausch currently serves as chair of the ICMA Board of Regents. He previously served as a regent and as a member of the Exam Review Committee. Prior to and concurrent with his national IMA service, Mr. Brausch served as an officer in several Chapter and Council positions for IMA.

Mr. Brausch is the author of “Selling ABC," "The Trials and Travails of State Tax Policy," and "Who Is Accounting for the Cost of Capacity?" co-written with Dr. Tom Taylor of Wake Forest University. He is also the author of "Beyond ABC: Target Costing for Profit Enhancement," which won the Lybrand Bronze Medal from IMA for its outstanding contribution to accounting literature and which appeared in the November 1994 issue of Management Accounting. This article was also selected by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) as an Article of Merit and is included in the book, Activity Based Management in Action. His work is also referenced in a Statement on Management Accounting (SMA) about activity-based costing from IMA and the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (now CMA Canada).

Mr. Brausch is a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and holds an MBA from the University of Montana. John, his wife Pennie, and daughter Haley live in Columbia, S.C.
