Like all associations, IMA is committed to building relationships and developing professional partnerships. The purpose of these relationships is to better assist our members in discovering the characteristics of the management accounting and finance professions.
IMA is one of the five founding organizations of the Committee on Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) established in the late 1980s by a government commission called the Treadway Commission. See developments made by COSO under COSO News & Updates.
The National Academy Foundation (NAF) was created as a partnership between business leaders and educators to address the need to prepare students for professional careers. NAF serves over 50,000 students in over 500 Academies in 41 states and the District of Columbia in urban schools through small learning communities.
IMA supports The PhD Project, a unique diversity initiative that encourages African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Native American to pursue a Ph.D. in business and serve as role models and mentors for minority business students.
IMA’s partnership with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) supports IMA’s initiative of expanding the diversity of IMA’s membership base, as well as the diversity of the management accounting profession as a whole.
