As part of the due diligence process adopted for issuance of Statements on Management Accounting (SMAs), IMA publishes an abstract of each draft SMA in Strategic Finance along with an Invitation to Comment. IMA encourages constituents to send a comment letter regarding the draft SMAs either electronically (to rlawson@imanet.org) or by regular mail to the Director of Research. Comments must be submitted by December 15, 2008.

For each draft SMA, an ad hoc Review Committee of subject matter experts will be formed by the Research Center of Excellence to review the document. Suggestions for Revision, based on the review of the draft SMA by the Review Committee, letters received from other interested parties, and any other information deemed relevant, will be sent to the author of the draft SMA. The authors will then revise the document taking into consideration the Suggestions for Revision. The Research Center of Excellence reserves the right to modify the revised draft as it deems appropriate prior to issuance of the SMA.
