Nontraditional CMA Joins IMA’s Next Reddit “Ask Me Anything”
Alesia Bess, CMA, a finance manager at FedEx, will share her nontraditional career path during an upcoming Reddit “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) to be held on January 26 starting at 12 p.m. EST.
Bess began her working life as a hairstylist and after deciding it wasn’t the career for her four years later, she started college and discovered a passion for accounting and finance. It was the perfect fit: She’s now a CMA® (Certified Management Accountant), a Quality Drive Management (QDM) expert, and a finance manager at FedEx. She’s spent the last 12 years at FedEx, moving up through higher levels of responsibility. Currently, she’s working in FedEx Supply Chain, where she is focused on the advisory, management, and leadership areas of the business.
During the AMA, Bess will be answering questions live, including inquiries about her nontraditional career journey, what it’s like to be a CMA and to take the exam, and her experience working at FedEx. She’ll share her unique path to becoming a CMA and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
